This Labor Day, take some time to stay “Fit 4 Life” at the Sanibel Recreation Center! The Recreation Center will operate under normal business hours and maintain all land and water aerobics classes on Monday, September 6th.

Lee County Emergency Management, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Lee County Port Authority and the cities of Fort Myers and Sanibel recently signed a contract with Emergency Communications Network to lease its CodeRED high-speed emergency notifications system. CodeRED, already in place in Cape Coral and Fort Myers Beach, now geographically covers all of Lee County to allow residents to receive health and safety alerts.

As part of the on-going Community Restoration effort in Clam Bayou, the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) is seeking volunteers to plant red mangrove seedlings in the Bayou.
